After ten and a half years of broadcasting from the same location, 101.5 FM has moved. It will be difficult to part from the old abode. It was where my station saw its greatest advances, from the addition of stereo sound and real pre-emphasis to a rooftop antenna. It was also where I made the transition to 24 hours of music every day. | I wanted to be back on by Easter weekend, but trivial difficulties like drilling holes in masonry for the transmission cable to adapting to smaller drain pipes on which to mount my antenna made the task longer than I planned. I also never got around to consolidating my audio chain in one box. | I officially began transmitting a little after 11 o’clock on Friday, March 28, a downtime of just under four weeks. Now little problems like cold solder joints (I dropped the transmitter during the move) are popping up, so more maintenance fixes are ahead. Meanwhile, I await my neighbors' astonished reactions.
